Wow! It's been 9 months since our last post! Yikes! There's been lots happening here in the Morgen Berrien studios. We've had 6 artcells, participated in a music and arts festival, enjoyed some amazing art in NYC, had 1 solo show, participated in 6 group shows, and signed on with TRAC gallery in Bethel, Maine!

Let's start with the most recent happenings and work back.....by the way, Carl is much better at documenting events of the day, so most of the following is written by him :)

2000hours Maine. We've been painting for several hours. Billy Rubin, Occult, some new stuff, and autodraw.

We painted and talked until 2230hours and called it an evening. It is early and so quiet here in Maine.

I mailed Kelly her invites for the Vicious Circle show in 3 weeks. Kelly finished Billy Rubin with a newly painted red frame. My old website is up.

2019-05-29 per our weekly phone call Kelly and I discussed the pepperoni azimuth. The azimuth being a metaphor for our amazing path as one singular artist being Morgen Berrien.  An added subset of the sliced pepperoni with illustrated Morgen Berrien parrallel worlds.

We will see Miro at Moma on 2nd of june, then sunday the Yale gallery where a singular heronimus bosch resides.  so cool.  we may stop by todds point perhaps.

2019-05-18 Friday 0806hours
The joint piece entitled Howard Beach Jogger or Europa Clown (after stupid rape murderer)
will be worked on this weekend in aqua room.  also PX is in aqua to be worked as well.

art cell49 greenwich- Kelly here this eve.  so good. lots of art and talk.

2019-06-01 1830hours We saw the Miro show and loved it.  Then Wendy and India went home.  Kelly and I visited four Audrey Munson (america's first super model) statues near central park and one at the library.
Back in the studio, we are starting the new sketchbook with one drawing per cell.

1923 hours we are sitting in the backyard working on a cell drawing. Clearly we didnt express what each thoughtit would be.  Kelly is autodrawing and I am writing it down as we go.  The highway behind us is quite loud.  Tomorrow we will work at beach.  The stamford bridge project is closing the highway so we wont go to yale Gallery this time.
I like the polarity of Miro's fork and sneaker painting as well as a painting by Phyllis Diller.  I want to do strong polarities like them.

2352 hours  We are working in the aqua room.  Kelly was sketching and fell asleep.  I have a dvd of only lovers left alive for tomorrow to watch.  It may rain some but we are going to Todds Point to draw. India was with a friend for dinner, so Wendy joined us for a cheese party, then some "automatic writing" in the new cell sketch book.  Kelly was very excited to manage it while we ate cheese. We both drew on the first artcell sketch.  Kelly started it by autodrawing Audrey Munsen.

Just awoke Kelly with coffee. It is very cloudy on the warm june morning.  Rain later.  We will be at beach soon to draw.  This is a great art cell 49.

1058 hours we are drawing at the beach, at waters edge.  It is sunny and beautiful.  Long Island in barely visible in the haze.
I love the sound of the surf.

1509 hours   back in aqua room.
Drew sketch of Kelly Cheeseburger (what azimuth is during burger passing through her guts).  Kelly suggested we just do sketches at artcells.  This would upgrade our think tank process.  We had two cheese parties, and tried midnight moon goat gouda cypress grove. phenomenal.

2113 hours greenwich
We are winding down the cell.  Both of us have our normal lives to return to monday morning.  We watched the Jim Jarmusch film only lovers left alive.  the film had scenes in tangier which left our artcell with an artsy international aftertaste.

Looking at astrology and procession of equinox rings.

an abhorrent deconstructivist- to inspire disqust from analysis; to visually breakdown to the very essence of matter and see beyond in order to confirm there is nothing.
what is the relation between seeing beyond, and desconstructionism with regard to cubism?
deconstructivism versus deconstructionism (oxymoron?); matter, meaning, time (travel), seeing beyond....
what if the narrative is drawn out as normal (autodrawn surrealism) then layered with a PUZZLE amidst chutes and bladders, and the steps and stages of puzzle/riddle exposes clues to the real story of the piece?  what about a ciruitry with innerlayed words, telling a longer story.

a chevaux de frise is a barrier constructed in water or on land to obstruct enemy troops.  i think it is called punji sticks if stuck in a hole as a death trap.

2019-04-21 greenwich 1534 hours
started a takeover on a red painting that had a vague outline of a female form.  i wrote a working title on it; deconstruction of wards folly.  it will keep the female form, and a plain or horizon line is added.  she will be see through and not all ther at all, amongst the clouds and the sand.  in the surrounding air will be the "cubed" portions of the reinforced concrete structure which made up the home of my aunt winnie ward.  this idea template will house/couch a cubist rendering of a puzzle/narrative, possibly political, unknown today.  i am getting an electronics kit to better learn the language of electricity and controlling it.  this additional narrative layer will provide us with a deeper storyline context/capacity.

Art Cell 48 Maine 2019-03-30 saturday 1722hours
Kelly wanted the joy of life series so I brought them up today.  They filled my car.  I stopped by to see Kerry Perkins in New Hampshire.  Her parents were there too.  It was a rare and good visit.  I brought a full carload of finished paintings, three foot size, per Kelly request.
Kelly fixed Bladder A, and pushed billy rubin further to completion.

1915 hours.  Just had steaks, and california truffle tremor cheese on bread.  I am working on a 2012 painting called captain henrys.  Kelly is working on  burger girl.  We are planning on doing an art cell at kerrys house and have a group sculpture activity for them to participate by saran wrapping each other and then taping the forms, then cutting off the forms in order to reassemble as sculptures.

2014hours In Bladder A Kelly made tiny dots as the ring on planet uranus.  Rather than just a proverbial ring, she made its shape composed if tiny dots, just like in reality.
2204hours  Kelly was tired and has remnants of flu and went to bed.
2257hours Nope. Kelly is up and painting again.  little do I know...

Sunday March 31st 0708hours day two
When we autodraw together on the same piece at the start of that piece, this must be the time when each of our egos dissolve and we become one entity for art.  I think this occurs when conditions are met.
Kelly worked on one of the concrete boards and I worked on captain henrys.  I added to billy rubin (spocking).
What role and how deeply impacted is each day made by ego.
We resolved the flower issue.  They will be purely narrative and devoid of representation.
We plan to see the Miro exhibit at moma and also visit yale gallery this summer, and get Kelly into the water at todds point.
It does boil down to navigation of self.  To mind ones ego.  The test is to do just that when in each daily grind... and attempt to perfect that in order to receive art cell, collaborative pizza being.

I like Duchamp pursuing the idea of the idea (regarding art).
We talk about spawning as narrative(flowers, fish, jellyfish and people).

2019-04-03  greenwich aqua room 1930hours
I have been looking online for meaning to ego  and its removal or atleast complete recognition of it.
I found another Hugo painting hidden in my bad carpentry.  Its another Hugo at Captian Henrys Diner.

another art cell tomorrow in maine.  good scheduling permitted this treat.  cell 47  will ride on the coat tails of last weekend.   i hope to add to billy rubin

2019-02-09  cell 47 1557hours maine
we look at finished old stuff and kelly is also working to finish the seaorse painting.  it will be called bread and circuses three.  the completed "employees must wash hands" from our neo calssicism cell (take over painting) is bread and circuses two.

sunday february 10th 0627hours. we were tired and not fully recuperated from last weekend cell 46.  i fell asleep for three hours then we talked a while then ended work session at 0100 hours this morning with a netflix show called  bordertown, badly dubbed.
kelly worked consistently upon the 9.5 cheeks, europa, megusta and the seahorse.  i focused on billy rubin and on some cheese (old take over).  we will have steak and eggs for breakfast.
kelly and i have about 95 art works that need completing.  we will do this and the embark on many new pieces.  I like concrete.  there are four of them.
