Art Cell 37 3 days in maine
second day; saturday november 18, 2017. 0913 hours Arrived yesterday just past noon. Kelly and I reviewed current work and some marketing before we drive to her ArtVan job. While there we assisted neighborhood kids with self portraits. One boy name "Johnny Marine" finished his portrait and helped with mine. It is the sketch about a lost lamb on jacobs ladder with mint jelly. We returned to studio, had truffle cheese and rib eye steaks, then jammed five hours on the red pizza twelve paintings. The are looking very good. Kelly easily convinced me that the 12 pieces will go in the Peoples bank show for the reception, and the other TNM bank will have medium sized previously completed paintings. 1923 hours We painted all day on the bank show pizza puzzle pieces. We also started Joy9 on a cell 3 board. Also we started two new pieces of our lower entrails called Chutes and Bladders A and B. Day three Sunday November 19th 2017 0804 hours We worked all day long, a fourteen hour plus day of art. I fell asleep with a paint brush in hand. All day we worked on the bank 12 pieces and the other pieces (now that pressure to produce is gone). We started working in the three new pieces. Kelly blocked in some color on joy9, and also on chutes and bladders b. I blocked in on chutes and bladders a. We are strongly drawn to a very simple blueprint upon a four foot size. small painting size do not please us. It would be good if we had both a cargo van and a warehouse together. Best case scenario would be a set of buildings on st john, so as to allow our constant work, and also a community center/food kitchen. Resse and I would have our bar at other end of island. Art Cell38 in Greenwich 2018-01-09 Tuesday night to Thursday morning Kelly arrived in Greenwich at 1800hours. We had a cheese tasting party with Wendy and India. Afterword we were in the cellar reviewing current works. Wednesday 0820hours Kelly is coming with me to work. I took a half day so we could visit the other bank exhibition in Cos Cob. The M&T bank has 17 works. We arrived at the Peoples bank show an hour early to help set up. The Greenwich Time photographer was there to do a photo shoot of us with our paintings. It was great. Then people began to arrive and we told them about "Pizza With Everything" and then the pizza template that overlays many of our subsequent works together. There must have been over fifty people milling in and out of the reception. It was great. Kelly met many of the people in my life. After the show the pressure was all gone. Then we could relax and talk about our next paintings. We aim to explore plants, pollen, time and space narrative and moral compasses. |
