Annuls Of An Exploding Pizza With Cranky Corners seen against the wall, while Billy Rubins Paint By Number Strip Club is seen arranged abstractly on the floor.
"Billy Rubins Paint By Number Strip Club" came to Maine studio for the first time. Until now it has only been worked on in Greenwich. This multi paneled work is a bit unwieldy due to the large bones protruding from its' surface. Here we are arranging and re-arranging the 6 panels on the floor to see if we like it abstractly or the way it was intended. For now, we agreed on the original arrangement,  although all the pieces were interesting displayed separately as well as in any order. Pretty cool.

"The Annals Of An Exploding Pizza With Cranky Corners" is returning to Greenwich studio. It can be seen leaning up against the wall of the studio.

Carl has been experimenting with concrete as a medium. The result is "Ralph The Squirrel", "Concrete Two" (a small painting takeover), "Concrete Three" (almost disaster and thrown out), and "An Atomic Pizza with Collisions of Stem Cells Marinated in Time Ribbons". These 4 pieces are still in the works and will most likely only be worked on in Greenwich due to there weight and size.  There were sheets of leftover plywood from his molding process, which have become "Adoration of Spanish Moss and Pepperoni Flowers For Alice Feeders", "A Universal Yogurt and Dipper Kays Arbiter For Colossus' Precausal Narcissism /or Johnny Lamb Dots 2", and "Ursa Minor Cathartic Foreskin Pizza". He brought these 3 panels to cell for their auto-drawn blueprint. All three stayed in Maine. We will swap at our next cell sometime in February.

"Adoration of Spanish Moss and Pepperoni Flowers With Alice Feeders" is a mutli-narrative piece abundant with symbolisms, comparisons between humans and flora, and our appreciation for the complexities of nature. Carl's initial inspiration for this work was the hair of a beautiful woman at his office who wore it in a clip one day. It moved and flowed like undersea flora.
We auto drew this piece while listening to "Alice's Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie.
(Below are pics of the beginning stages.)

"A Universal Yogurt And Dipper Kays Arbiter For Colossus' Precausal Narcissism /Or Johnny Lamb Dots Two" is a narrative about how we are all just flowers and atoms in the universe, as well as thoughts on predeterminism, ego, sense of self, and societal and self judgement. (Beginning stages below)

"Ursa Minor Cathartic Foreskin Pizza" is about our pizza and the flora within all our bodies. (Pizza is a symbolic reference to our collaboration; the fusion of 2 artists, creating as one, becoming a completely new 3rd entity.)

The key to many of our narrative works is in that we explore land, air, sea, space, and time all intertwined with efforts to visualize that which is both seen and resides between things unseen beyond the doors of perception.  Miles Davis said his music was about the time and space between musical notes.

There are moments of clarity, with a shocking sense of ones tiny place in the universe and in time.  The presence of flesh is merely and only  just that....  presence.
